After writing the first paper for this class, that is when I realized how many errors I was making in my writing. But the more papers I wrote and the more feedback I got, the less errors I would make.
In high school, I was always reminded not to forget to state my 3 main points or my thesis in my introduction. That is why I never forgot to put that in my introduction in any paper I have wrote for college.
Even in my main body paragraphs there were not a lot of issues. I usually did have a good, smooth transition between my main points and I always did remain on topic. Only in rare cases that I would go off topic from what I was writing my paper on. I am usually very good at keeping my reader interested in my writing because I try to use strong, interesting supporting points to go along with my main ideas.
One thing that I always thought that i struggled with was bringing my reader into my conclusion. But I had learned in this class is that all you have to do to bring your reader into your conclusion is signal the closing. You can simply do this by saying “In conclusion…” and simple things like that.
One thing that I did have issues with when I started off in this class were changing time and person in a sentence. Even though I still make these mistakes in my writing, I am not making them as often as I did before.
